This short-term certificate is designed for experienced Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) looking to take on more responsibility and grow in their profession. In just 8 weeks, you’ll build on your existing knowledge and prepare to take the State of Michigan Medication Aide Certification Exam.
Classes meet in person twice a week with a required clinical on Fridays.

Admission Requirements
To enroll, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Hold a current, unrestricted State of Michigan CNA license
- Have completed a state-approved nurse aide training program
- Have worked 2,000+ hours as a CNA in a nursing home or skilled nursing facility within the last 2 years
You will also need to submit the following documents within 3 business days of registering:
- Valid driver’s license or state ID
- Proof of your active CNA certification
- Employer letter verifying your 2,000 hours (must be on official letterhead with contact info)
