What Is Michigan Reconnect?

Michigan Reconnect is a state-funded scholarship that covers in-district tuition for eligible Michigan adults.

At Glen Oaks, this means you can pursue a degree or certificate without paying tuition—while gaining real skills for today’s workforce.

Who Is Eligible for Michigan Reconnect?

You may qualify for the Michigan Reconnect Scholarship if you:

  • Are 25 years or older
  • Live in Michigan
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Have not earned a college degree
  • Complete the FAFSA and Michigan Reconnect application

For Residents of St. Joseph County and Beyond

Glen Oaks serves a broad region, and Reconnect works slightly differently depending on where you live.

If you live in St. Joseph County, Michigan

  • This is GOCC's home county and you are considered an in-district student
  • Reconnect covers 100% of in-district tuition and fees

If you live in Michigan, outside of St. Joseph County

  • You are eligible for Reconnect
  • Reconnect covers in-district tuition rates — this means you may need to pay the difference between in-district and service area rates

Glen Oaks often works with students to close this gap through other financial aid. Always talk to our Financial Aid Office — many students pay little or nothing out of pocket.

What Programs Can I Take?

You can use Reconnect to earn:

  • Any of our associate degree programs including Nursing, Business, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, and more
  • All skilled trades certificates in Welding, Automotive Technology, Machine Tool, and more

Not sure where to start? Our advisors can help you explore career paths and align your education with your goals.
