Grants & Tuition Support at Glen Oaks
Financial aid that doesn't have to be paid back.
If you’ve completed your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you’ve already taken the first step toward qualifying for federal and state grants—free money for college that you don’t have to repay.
Grant programs are based on financial need as defined by the federal government. You must also meet the eligibility requirements for financial aid. Below are key opportunities available to Glen Oaks students.
Federal Pell Grant
The Pell Grant is the largest source of federal grant funding for college students and serves as the foundation of most financial aid packages.
Pell Grant Quick Facts:
- Eligibility is determined through your FAFSA application.
- Award amounts are based on:
- Your Student Aid Index (SAI)
- Whether you're full-time or part-time
- Your length of enrollment during the academic year
- Maximum usage: You can receive Pell funding for up to 12 full-time semesters (6 years)
- If you qualify, your award will be posted to your myGOCC portal and sent to your Viking email.
- Awards are based on full-time status.
Pell Grants do not require repayment and are not affected by other financial aid awards.
You are not eligible if you already hold a bachelor’s degree.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
Pell Grant recipients with exceptional financial need may qualify for the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant.
- Priority is given to Pell Grant recipients with the lowest SAI
- Limited funding available—apply early
- Typical award: $500 per year

Occupational Student Services-Based Grants
Some grants at Glen Oaks are administered through Occupational Student Support Services (OSSS) and are designed specifically for students enrolled in approved occupational and technical programs. These grants provide additional financial support for students who face economic, educational, or personal barriers while pursuing career-focused training. Because they are program-based grants, they require a separate application through OSSS and may have specific eligibility and academic progress requirements.
Special Populations Grant
