At Glen Oaks Community College, we know that balancing school, work, and life isn’t always easy—especially for students in occupational programs who are committed to building hands-on skills for in-demand careers. That’s why we offer Occupational Student Success Program (OSSP) to help you stay on track, finish your program, and reach your career goals.

Whether you're training to become a nurse, welder, medical assistant, or automotive technician, OSSP is here to support your journey.

Who is Eligible?

You may qualify for OSSP if you are enrolled in an occupational degree and qualify for at least one Special Population category:

  • Single Parent/Single Pregnant Women
  • Out-of-Workforce Individual
  • Individual with Disability
  • Individual Experiencing Homelessness
  • Economically Disadvantaged Individual
  • Non-Traditional Training Participant by Gender
  • Student in/or Aged-Out of Foster Care System
  • English Language Learner

How We Support You

OSSP provides personalized services and referrals that may include:

  • Referrals to Tutoring & Academic Support
  • Connections to Community Resources
  • Mentoring and One-on-One Advising
  • Career Exploration Tools
  • Workshops on Career Readiness
  • Financial Assistance Opportunities for Textbooks, Tuition, or Childcare (as funding and eligibility allow)

These services are designed to reduce barriers that might stand in your way—so you can stay focused on finishing your program and launching your career.
