Glen Oaks Community College proudly participates in MiTransfer — a statewide collaboration that helps students transfer credits with confidence. Whether you’re pursuing a career in business, education, health sciences, or any number of fields, MiTransfer ensures your courses align with your goals.

What is MiTransfer?

MiTransfer is a partnership between Michigan’s public colleges and universities, including Glen Oaks, designed to streamline the credit transfer process. Through shared agreements and tools, students can:

  • Explore how courses transfer between institutions
  • Plan transfer-friendly associate degrees
  • Understand how the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) works
  • Reduce credit loss when transferring
  • Graduate on time and with less debt

MTA Requirements at Glen Oaks

To satisfy the MTA, students must successfully complete at least 30 credit hours with a grade of 2.0 or higher in each course, distributed across these categories:

  • English Composition – 1 course
  • Second English Composition or Communications – 1 course
  • Mathematics – 1 course
  • Natural Sciences – 2 courses from different disciplines (one with lab)
  • Social Sciences – 2 courses from different disciplines
  • Humanities and Fine Arts – 2 courses from different disciplines
