End-of-Program Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the AAS in Nursing program are prepared to deliver safe, evidence-based, client-centered care. Through clinical training and classroom instruction, students build strong skills in critical thinking, collaboration, and the use of healthcare technology to support patient outcomes.

CONCEPTS Upon completion of the nursing program, the graduate shall demonstrate the role and function of the registered nurse as evidenced by:
Client-Centered Care Nursing graduates will coordinate client-centered care to diverse populations across the lifespan.
Safety Nursing graduates will integrate nursing care that promotes safe practice.
Teamwork & Collaboration Nursing graduates will collaborate within nursing and interdisciplinary teams in the delivery of optimal care.
Evidence-Based Practice Nursing graduates will integrate current evidence-based practice in clinical decision-making.
Critical Thinking Nursing graduates will demonstrate critical thinking to affect optimal client outcomes.
Informatics & Technology Nursing graduates will incorporate the use of information and electronic technology to support decision-making.

Glen Oaks supports students through every step of their nursing journey. In 2024, nearly 80% of all ADN students completed the program on time—demonstrating our commitment to helping both traditional and LPN-to-RN students reach graduation successfully.
