Glen Oaks Community College is committed to providing survivors with access to confidential resources, clear information, and compassionate assistance.

Confidential Support and Crisis Resources

The following organizations offer confidential support, crisis intervention, and information. You do not need to be a student to call, and you do not need to report an incident to receive help.

DASAS provides crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling referrals, and information for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services

These services provide mental health crisis support, assessment, and referrals for individuals experiencing emotional distress or trauma.

Support for Friends and Family

If you are supporting someone who has experienced sexual violence, you may also need guidance. Advocates can help you understand how to listen, provide support, and respect a survivor’s choices while also caring for your own well-being.

Campus Sexual Assault Handbook

The Campus Sexual Assault Handbook is available on this page and provides clear, plain-language information about:

  • What sexual assault is
  • Common reactions after trauma
  • Medical and emotional support options
  • Reporting options and survivor rights
  • How friends and family can help

The handbook is written for survivors, but it is also intended to support friends, family members, and allies who want to better understand how to help.

Access to information does not require making a report.

Reporting Options at Glen Oaks Community College

Survivors have choices. You may choose to report, delay reporting, or not report at all.

If you would like to explore reporting options or campus support services, you may contact the College’s Title IX Coordinator or Advisors. Speaking with a campus official does not require you to move forward with a formal complaint unless you choose to do so.
