Kimberlee Bontrager serves as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees for Glen Oaks Community College, bringing extensive financial expertise, public accounting leadership, and deep community roots to the college. A lifelong Sturgis resident, she is committed to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and stewardship in support of student access and institutional sustainability.

Professional and Community Background
Kimberlee Bontrager is president and owner of Locey CPA, a public accounting firm based in Sturgis that serves clients with accounting, audit, and tax-related services. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in both Michigan and Florida.
Born and raised in Sturgis, Michigan, Kim earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Central Michigan University. She later completed a second bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in business administration with a major in accounting from University of Central Florida.
Prior to returning to Sturgis to take over her family’s business in 2015, Kim held financial and accounting roles with organizations including General Electric, Electronic Data Systems Corporation, SunGard Higher Education (now Ellucian), Michigan State University, and Lincoln Memorial University.
Service to Glen Oaks
As Treasurer of the Board of Trustees, Kim supports the Board through financial oversight, budget review, and governance responsibilities that ensure sound fiscal management of the college. Her background in public accounting and higher education finance informs data-driven decision-making aligned with the college’s mission and long-term goals.
Her service reflects a commitment to maintaining affordability, accountability, and responsible use of public resources.
Community Leadership and Recognition
Kim is actively engaged in community leadership throughout the Sturgis area. In addition to her service on the Glen Oaks Community College Board of Trustees, she currently serves on several local and regional boards, including Sturgis Bank and Trust, Domestic and Sexual Abuse Services, Thurston Woods, and the Sturgis Foundation. She is also a member of the Sturgis Kiwanis Club.
Kim previously served on the Board of Directors for the Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce. In recognition of her civic leadership and community impact, the Chamber named her Sturgis Citizen of the Year in 2021.
Governance Role
Trustees serve in a governance and policy-making capacity and are not involved in the day-to-day operations of the college. Operational leadership is provided by the President and executive leadership team.
